Price makers, not price takers.
Paddock is a platform for farmers to trade directly with other farmers. List your sheep, cattle or deer, set your own price, and deal direct with the buyer. Join on subscription and get access to our buyer and seller networks — no commission, no trip to the yards.
Coming to your area soon.

Trading stock in New Zealand hasn’t changed in a long time
You truck your animals to the yards. You wait to see what the day gives you. Then you pay a commission on whatever that turns out to be.
It’s a big ask — and an added expense — to truck them back to the farm if they don’t sell for what you were hoping. It’s usually just easier to shrug it off and accept what the market offers that day.
But what if it could be different? What if you could leave your stock right where they are, set your own price and be the one to make the final call on whether to sell or hold? And if you accept an offer, keep every dollar from that sale? Welcome to Paddock.
List it. Price it. Deal direct.

List your mob
Numbers, breed, weights, age, location, a few photos. Ten minutes of your time and your listing goes live.
- 02
Set your price
Per head or per kilo, on your terms. You decide what your stock is worth, not the day. You can compare your expectations against our benchmark data. Set a Buy Now price too, if you want the deal done faster.
- 03
Deal with the buyer
A buyer makes you an offer, or takes your Buy Now price and it’s done. Talk to each other and ask questions. Paddock helps the buyer sort the transport. Payment settles directly.
All for a monthly subscription fee — a fraction of what it costs to use a stock agent.
A flat fee, not a cut of your work
You can choose from our Basic, Pro or Premium subscriptions based on how many trades you’re doing in a year and what features you’d like to access — large lines of stock sit in our Premium tier. Your first month is on us so you can get a feel for our platform — and the best part of all — every dollar you make on the sale of your stock is yours to keep. Zero commission.
The difference matters most when things go well.
A percentage takes more from you the better the price — so the harder you’ve worked, the more it costs. Our subscription fee doesn’t move. Whatever your stock makes, the fee is the same.
- We also cover the card processing costs rather than passing them on.
- We don’t touch the money for the stock itself. That settles directly farmer to farmer.
None of this works unless farmers trust each other
We’re starting in the south
We’d rather your first trades on Paddock were with someone from your own patch — a name you know, or one phone call away from a name you know. That’s what makes a platform like Paddock worth trusting, so we’re starting with our South Island networks before heading north. If you want Paddock to come to you sooner, let us know!
Real people on the end of the phone
Someone who knows stock, not a chatbot and not a ticket number. Ask us for help and we’ll give you a call.
We won’t leave you hanging
Deals fall through sometimes — we know that, we’re farmers too. When a trade doesn’t go to plan, our team will jump in and help work out a solution. We take trust seriously here.
If you already do deals over the fence, this is that — with a bigger fence
Sheep and beef farmers
Store, breeding and prime.
Dairy farmers trading cattle
Surplus heifers, bulls, cull cows.
Deer farmers
A market nobody has bothered to build for properly.
Questions farmers are asking
When can I use it?
We're inviting farmers into the app soon, starting with the South Island, before coming to the North Island. Join our waitlist and we'll let you know when it's available in your area.
What does it cost?
You choose based on what you want. We offer Basic, Pro and Premium subscriptions so you can design your Paddock to suit your property, your style of farming and how many trades you do in a year. You won't pay commission on your sale.
We'll reveal our tier pricing closer to our wider launch. Stay tuned.
Does Paddock handle the payment for the stock?
No. That goes directly between buyer and seller, exactly as it does now. We only charge a monthly subscription fee, billed to your card through our payment partner, Stripe.
Can I still use my agent?
Paddock is built for farmers to deal with each other directly, so we aren't designing for agents specifically. We welcome agents to sign up and participate in our networks if they want to.
Nothing stops you taking advice from whoever you normally would before you list or before you buy — that's your business. You can also ask our team for advice if you're not sure — just use our handy request button once we're live.
What stock can I list?
Sheep, cattle and deer.
Who sorts the transport?
The buyer sorts the transport, but Paddock helps organise it with integrated transport requests. Fewer phone calls and a streamlined process makes this more efficient for everyone.
What if the buyer doesn't pay?
Deals fall through sometimes — we know that, and we won't leave you hanging. Our team are happy to jump in and help work out a solution when a trade doesn't go quite to plan. We take trust seriously at Paddock.
What happens if my stock doesn't sell?
Ask us for help finding a buyer and we'll see what we can do. If you list in your free month and sell elsewhere or change your mind before you receive an offer you're happy with, pull your listing at no cost to you. Zero risk. You can cancel your subscription any time — as long as you don't have any deals in progress.
If I'm mid-deal with someone, can I change my mind?
Give us a buzz in-app or contact our support team and we'll see how we can help.
